The Data Lab has launched its CPD and Training Programme for 2017 this week. Building on the success of previous modules, The Data Lab will be offering courses ranging from data visualisation to statistics.
Andy Kirk from Visualising Data will return to Edinburgh in November to deliver a one day course as part of the programme. Andy was one of the most popular keynote speakers at Data Summit 2017 and we are thrilled to have him back, this time for a full day workshop. Commenting on his partnership with The Data Lab, Andy said: I’m delighted to be able to offer this data visualisation workshop in Edinburgh in partnership with The Data Lab. I have been very impressed with how they are leading the data science agenda across all industry sectors in Scotland and, through this relationship, I look forward to playing a role in inspiring more growth in data visualisation literacy and capability. There is rich potential with the talent in the region that will benefit hugely from embracing this cutting edge and sought after skillset.
In addition to the more technical courses, The Data Lab will also be running sessions on leadership and soft skills. Paul Laughlin, Founder and MD of Laughlin Consultancy said: Laughlin Consultancy is delighted to bring our popular ‘Softer Skills for Data Professionals’ course to Scotland, in partnership with The Data Lab. This has already proved very popular with analysts and data scientists elsewhere in the UK & Europe. With such a vibrant and growing talent pool in Scotland, this is a great opportunity to work in collaboration with The Data Lab and the Scottish data community they have fostered.
