The FIT Home initiative, pioneered by the Albyn Housing Society, aims to develop housing solutions to enable people to live independently for longer and provide a secure environment for them to live in. The FIT Home project aims to reduce pressure on public services and resources, by predicting, and therefore preventing injury.
The homes include a FITsense system – state-of-the-art assistive technology, which includes various levels of ambient sensor equipment that captures data as the residents move around their homes. The Data Lab provided funding to involve Artificial Intelligence experts from Robert Gordon University to help analyse the data collected.
