In collaboration with industry experts, The Data Lab is excited to announce the launch of its new course, “Data for Entrepreneurs.” This programme empowers aspiring and established entrepreneurs with the essential skills to succeed in today’s data-driven business landscape.
The course features insights from industry leaders, including Steven Drost, Codebase CSO, and Chris Speed, Chair of Design Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, and interviews with experts from professionals like Shannon Vallor, Baillie Gifford Chair, Ethics of Data and AI, and Medical Director, NHS Lothian, Tracey Gillies.
Data for Entrepreneurs will equip you with the skills to navigate data effectively and provide the practical tools necessary to enhance your knowledge and efficiency. Throughout the programme, participants will hear from professionals across sectors, ensuring a holistic approach regardless of your background.
The inaugural pilot programme is open to 20 participants and is completely free to participate. We are seeking individuals who are aspiring entrepreneurs, in the early stages of starting their own business, seeking to foster an entrepreneurial spirit within a medium or large sized organisation, or who are established business owners facing challenges that data can help solve.

Course duration: January 25 to March 26, 2024.
Programme format: Blended learning with online modules and in-person events in Edinburgh on January 25 and March 26 2024. Participants must be able to attend in-person events for course completion.

Early applications are encouraged, as the program will close after reaching 20 participants. Applications will be assessed on eligibility criteria, and successful applicants will be informed of their acceptance by the 19th of January at the latest.
