It’s busy times for The Data Lab. Following the appointment of Gillian Docherty as CEO back in June; we have been working hard to deliver benefits to the Scottish Data Science community. In the past few months, we have engaged with over 80 companies and presented at key data events, and we have exciting plans and activities coming up for the rest of the year.
In order to achieve this, The Data Lab is growing, and we are delighted to welcome the new members to our team.
At the beginning of August, we were thrilled to have a full house for the first time during our induction session with all 14 staff members. This means The Data Lab team has doubled up in numbers, and our three hubs are now permanently covered.
Three new team members are already on board. Darran Gardner joined last week as our Business Development Executive based in Glasgow, along with Dave Fitch our new Head of Operations, based in Edinburgh. Craig Skeldon also joined us as Office Manager and PA to Gillian.
Next week, Duncan Hart will start as our Business Development Executive based at RGU in Aberdeen. Jude McCorry, Head of Business Development will follow at the end of August. Finally, our project delivery team, comprising Michelle Galea as Project Manager, Roman Popat and Richard Carter our in-house Data Scientists will join us in September.
We are very excited about our new extended team and the work we can accomplish together. We welcome them on board, and are keen to work together to continue delivering more value, skills and activities for our community.
