Last week, Visit Scotland launched the newest edition of the Scottish Tourism Toolkit. Created by a small group of experienced tourism professionals, the project aims to support and inspire visitor attractions and experiences across Scotland, helping them to react and implement solutions to the new virtual world post-Covid.
The Data Lab – Championing Scotland’s tourist attractions & experiences
Here at The Data Lab, we were proud to see our Innovation Centre and new TORCH service featured in the updated Tourism Toolkit. Whatever an organisation’s budget, our team are eager to support those in the Scottish travel sector. From industry introductions and funding, to education and solutions, we have been working with our comprehensive network of 1,500+ organisations to ensure we help in getting Scottish tourism back on its feet!
TORCH in tourism
The newest addition to our Data Lab offering is our TORCH Business Advisory service. TORCH supports organisations who are already leveraging their data and eager to take those next steps. Clients are already using the service to develop their skill-sets, generate new data, validate project ideas and invest in new processes and systems.
Tourists leave digital traces during every adventure, and those involved in tourism can harness existing data to interact with guests and improve customer experience. From forecasting trends, to creating offers tailored to visitor needs, Scotland’s existing data has the potential to transform tourism.
Technology support at every stage
The latest edition of the Scottish Tourism Toolkit aims to address short, medium and long term solutions for attractions and experiences. To support businesses whilst adapting to this year’s changes, the toolkit is conveniently separated by three headers:
- Challenges – outlining the challenges facing attractions as we re-open
- Case studies – learning from other providers
- Solutions – learning more about technology solutions
The project participants understand that we are living in unpredictable and fast-changing times. In response to this, they are continually working with partners to ensure additions and updates are ongoing, with the goal to expand support to other sectors within tourism.
