Scottish AI Alliance

The Scottish AI Alliance has been formed to deliver on the vision for Scotland to become a leader in the development and use of trustworthy, ethical and inclusive AI.

Delivering trustworthy, ethical and inclusive AI

Scotland’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy was launched on 22 March 2021 with a vision for Scotland to be a leader in the development and use of TRUSTWORTHY, ETHICAL and INCLUSIVE AI. The strategy announced the formation of the Scottish AI Alliance, an open-to-all stakeholder group with representation from across society that will deliver on the strategy’s vision and actions.

The inaugural chair of the Scottish AI Alliance is Data Lab’s CEO, Gillian Docherty OBE. A Leadership Circle has been appointed to oversee the work of the alliance and provide strategic leadership and insight as well as prioritisation and guidance.  The Support Circle provides the executive function for the Alliance and is a partnership between The Data Lab and the Scottish Government, with a dedicated Scottish AI Alliance team embedded in Data Lab.
