Two additional Board Members from Industry to join our main Governance Board

The Data Lab is one of eight Innovation Centres in Scotland, recently re-funded with an £13.5M grant from the Scottish Funding Council, Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Scottish Government to generate significant economic, social and scientific value from data. Hosted by The University of Edinburgh, The Data Lab enables industry, public sector and world-class university researchers to innovate and develop new data science and artificial intelligence capabilities in a collaborative environment.

The Data Lab has been operational for over 4 years and has a wide range of activities and projects underway across our three core areas: Collaborative Innovation, Skills & Training and Community Building. The Governance Board have responsibilities to help The Data Lab achieve its goals and mission, these are detailed in the following sections of this information pack.

We are looking to recruit up to 2 additional Board Members from Industry to join our main Governance Board. With these appointments we anticipate broadening the Board’s experience and strengthening our capabilities to provide additional industry perspectives and a greater diversity of thought.

Industrial Doctorate Vacancies

The Data Lab The Data Lab co-funds Industrial Doctorate programmes at Scottish Universities, in collaboration with Scottish industry or public sector organisations. These industrial doctorates are designed to support the development of data science talent at a PhD / EngD level, while facilitating collaboration between industry and academia through applied research projects.
